Every time you hire someone or promote an employee to a new position, you are gambling with the future of your company. Put the odds in your favour by matching the appropriate people with your job opportunities and managing risk. The process of filling vacant employment positions requires a professional and methodical approach to ensure that the ideal candidate is sourced, and forms the basis the Unikum offering. A mismatch of skills, experience or cultural fit is the most common reasons for staff turnover in the first three months of employment. These factors should be taken into consideration in the recruitment process, and forms part of the Unikum approach.

Unikum pays special attention on understanding the business of its clients. Through relationship building we gain an integral knowledge of the working environment and culture. Our process results in a short-list of candidates that not only meet the inherent job requirements but fit in comfortably with the cultural environment of the company.

THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS

The following steps are considered and implemented:
  1. Understanding your business through personal contact and discussion.
  2. Understand the job profile/specification of the vacant position. If there is no job profile available, it could be developed as part of the recruitment process.
  3. Compile a person specification for the position to meet the requirements of the job.
  4. Advertise, search, and interview possible candidates.
  5. Compile a shortlist of candidates to be presented to the client.
  6. The client interviews the shortlist of candidates.
  7. Pre -employment assessment inclusive of psychometrical testing and reference checks are included in the recruitment process for the final candidate(s).
  8. The client selects the preferred candidate.
  9. An employment offer is negotiated with the preferred candidate.
Added reassurance of our commitment to finding the most suitable candidate is our standard 90-day guarantee which applies should the candidate be found to be unsuitable or resigns once employment has commenced.

Once a placement has been made, we continue to keep in contact with both the candidate and the client for 90 days to ensure that realistic expectations of both parties are met. Should problem areas arise, we can act as facilitator to attempt to resolve such problems timorously and amicably.
